Friday Faves: Clearskies Camino

David from Dublin, Ireland has walked the Camino Frances every year since 2011 and has a wonderful blog about it at clearskiescamino.com. He appears quite passionate about it! Not only does he have a list of Camino planning links, but  he shares some very cool things in his “Weekend Watch” posts, like the Animated Google Earth Map and some entertaining YouTube videos. I respect David for writing a timely post about Denise Thiem, and I was moved to read that St. James’ Church in Dublin rang their bells for three minutes in her memory.

From his About page:

Each year I visit the north of Spain to take in it’s culture, to meet people and of course, give my spirit some food for thought. The Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage but in my eyes it is a challenge, a way of meeting people and a great way of getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

I love writing and talking about the various Caminos de Santiago and if you are one of the many people who have trekked these routes, you may well feel the same.

I’m happy to see that he has plans for a Camino in 2016.

David, thank you for maintaining your Camino blog! It’s been fun to follow as I am deep into the planning stage. Perhaps our paths will cross in Santiago next year, or somewhere in Ireland in the future. My husband and I visited Ireland in 2009 and we have been wanting to go back ever since. However, the Camino is calling me and I must answer, so Spain it is!
