Pilgrim Interview: Mike Miller

What the “Camino Provides” means to Mike Miller

At the October monthly Camino walk, I interviewed Knute Michael Miller, who I met at a previous walk around Lake Merritt.  Mike shares his experience of walking the Camino de Santiago (Camino Portugues from Lisbon- April/May 2013 and Camino Frances from St Jean Pied de Port-April/May 2015), the importance of taking a rest day, and his take on what the Camino provides. He also talks about his blog and tells us how he got the nickname Fog City Boy. Watch video on YouTube, or play below.

Mike is also known for making waves at the San Francisco waterfront — as a tour guide, that is! He occasionally leads tours called Making Waves on the Waterfront.  I hope to catch one of Mike’s tours — he knows a lot of history and trivia about our beautiful city by the bay. Visit the SF City Guides website for more free walking tours of San Francisco.

See more responses to the question what the Camino provides on the Pilgrim Interviews page.

    • Mike,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on video. I love your suggestion of a day of rest each week. I try to do that on Sundays here at home, but sometimes life is too hectic. I will make sure my Caminos will allow for some R&R, sightseeing and museums too!
      Cheers,
      Laurie
